The Burundi Revenue Authority (OBR)
The Burundi Revenue Authority (OBR) is entrusted with the mandate of the tax collection on behalf of the Burundian Treasury. In fulfilling this mission, the OBR is committed to combating tax and customs fraud, while ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to taxpayers.
In this framework, the OBR plays an advisory role to the Government in the formulation and implementation of reforms related to tax and customs procedures, particularly those applicable to e-commerce. It also contribute in tax regulatory reforms in order to align them with e-commerce requirements.

The Independent Competition Commission (CIC) is responsible for ensuring a fair and competitive environment for all producers, traders, service providers, and intermediaries operating within the national territory. It works to prevent anti-competitive practices by promoting price transparency and combating restrictive behaviors.
In this regard, the CIC collaborates with all relevant stakeholders to regulate commercial trqnsactions, ensuring that providers of electronic commerce services operate fairly and in compliance with commercial regulations and the principles of competition.
